The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our Outgo team in Seattle.

The Outgo product team is at the heart of revolutionizing financial services for truckers. We build robust, fault-tolerant systems that make real-time decisions and manage money flows with bank-grade reliability. Our technology transforms the accounts receivable process through intelligent automation and visualization, multiplying our operations team's effectiveness. For our customers, we craft intuitive, trustworthy applications that set a new standard for financial services. Our platform powers carrier businesses with industry-leading funding speeds in a low-margin, high-cost environment so they can keep moving and grow their business.

You are someone who

  • Demonstrate pride, ownership, and accountability for your work, and expect the same from those you work with
  • Shares opinions openly on what's working and what's not across the product, tech stack, and team processes
  • Comfortable with independently owning large features with multiple moving parts
  • Seeks feedback early and often in the design and development process
  • Collaborates effectively and empathetically across different roles such as Product, Engineering, and Operations
  • Identifies speed vs quality tradeoffs and balances them judiciously
  • Believes diverse teams make better decisions, and actively fosters a culture where every person can do their best work

What You'll Do

  • Own the design strategy and execution for Outgo’s product features and experiences.
  • Lead end-to-end design for complex product areas — from discovery and definition through execution and iteration
  • Define and own design quality for Outgo across our platform
  • Craft a compelling product vision with the product and technical teams to shape product strategy, align on customer needs, and business goals.
  • Translate insights from research and data into clear, compelling product experiences
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Champion the user perspective and advocate for inclusive, accessible design practices

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of professional product design experience with a track record of shipping high-impact products in complex problem spaces.
  • Skilled at operating independently to turn ambiguous, cross-functional problems into clear, cohesive product experiences
  • Strong experience in interaction design, visual design, product thinking and design systems.
  • Strong systems thinking — you can zoom out to see patterns and structure
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you're able to clearly articulate design decisions.
  • Background in driving broad product or technical initiatives that span organizational boundaries
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Technology or equivalent experience

We'd be extra excited if

  • You have deep experience in working in service design and in-house operational teams.
  • You have prior experience with payments and financial technology
