We’re searching for an Accounting Supervisor (Real Estate) to join our Accounting Controllership Services team. This position is responsible for advanced financial and accounting services and proficiency in a variety of accounting software for the Firm’s business and Real Estate industry clients. Responsibilities include preparing complex financial statements, preparing payroll tax and sales tax returns, preparing and adjusting journal entries, supervising accounting staff, and solving complex accounting problems.

Location: Fully remote. Priority will be given to applicants residing in the Southeastern United States.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting working with clients in the Real Estate Industry.
  • 3+ years of experience using Yardi software (residential, commercial, industrial and/or special purpose real estate). 
  • Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software systems, including QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, BILL, or ADP.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting and/or controllership.
  • Experience with Real Estate industry clients. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients, providing high-quality financial services tailored to their specific needs.
  • Utilize accounting software expertise to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance client deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, staying abreast of industry updates and best practices.
  • Assess financial performance, trends, and forecasts to provide data-driven decision-making to boost client services, identify opportunities of value-added service lines, and improve client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding accounting-related inquiries, issues, and recommendations.
  • Work with the Firm’s management team to lead and monitor performance goals such as chargeable hours, growth, profitability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate across various organizational departments and work with cross-functional teams to execute goals.
  • Perform technical quality control review of returns and other engagement items.
  • Assist in the development, preparation, and delivery of internal and external continuous education.
  • Comply with the Firm’s training and continuous education requirements.
  • Meet the Firm’s guidelines for productivity and utilization
