The most essential function of this position is to assist the credit union members in experiencing the Advia advantage. This is accomplished by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core. To manage existing portfolio keeping up with renewals and annual reviews of loan portfolio with the overall target of maintaining and increasing its asset quality. This position will underwrite annual reviews within the assigned portfolio.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel Required: 25–50% of the time, primarily within Tuscola, Oakland, Lapeer, Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, and Huron counties, with potential for expansion to additional counties.
  • Manages existing loan portfolio to required standards, maintaining a high-quality asset base, including timely renewals of loans, annual reviews, monitoring payments and collections, and updating financial information as required.
  • Collects and analyzes financial information, including initiating loan application requests, coordinating the processing and closing of loans. Cross-sells products and services to meet member needs and expand relationships.
  • Develops centers of influence and participates in community events to generate awareness and business leads.
  • Maintains tracking of opportunities, successes, and pipelines.
  • Manages and cultivates relationships by assisting members with questions, concerns and resolves member issues in a timely manner.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines.

Requirements

Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.


Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree.


Interpersonal Skills

The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
