Overview:
The Marketing Finance Specialist will support the Shared Services team by managing marketing and advertising financials. This role is responsible for key accounting activities such as financial analysis, monthly close, account analysis, and reconciliation reviews, while monitoring marketing expenses against forecasts. The position requires strong collaboration with marketing teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of Marketing Closing Schedules and Rolling Plans.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings with Marketing team departments and provide necessary documentation.
  • Communicate actuals to Marketing teams and assist in tracking performance against budget for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform account variance checks and resolve discrepancies identified during closing or meetings in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review marketing accounts receivable, payable, and prepaid reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Compile and review marketing actuals and estimated expenses for submission to FP&A and leadership.
  • Prepare data for marketing journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
  • Generate and validate Sales Tax and Cost Center reports for reclassification purposes.
  • Review deductions on marketing invoices and ensure proper processing.
  • Monitor marketing accounts receivable reconciliations and follow up with vendors/merchants for outstanding invoices.
  • Assist in analyzing IRI revenue share data and reconcile payments.
  • Update and review Coupons and Rewards summary reports for accuracy.
  • Maintain Groupon Expense Summary and Reconciliation Report and prepare entry backup for upload.
  • Review insertion fees report and assist with reconciliation tasks.
  • Process weekly CAPS/Postage funding and send USPS reports to CAPS team for reconciliation.
  • Support assignment of Internal Orders across teams and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities (e.g., time management and efficiency)
  • Strong analytical skills (e.g., identify and research issues), proficiency in budget planning; ability to complete monthly and annual financial closes and reconcile actuals; experience preparing cost summaries and reporting to senior management
  • Must be comfortable to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and respond to ad-hoc requests quickly
  • Proficient in MS Office with Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems or ERP tools
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday
