  • Lead team on engineers to build various Linux kernel device drivers to support pre-silicon and post-silicon validation
  • Direct oversight of engineers building highly performant software running on our Autonomous Vehicles and supporting infrastructure
  • Work with Engineering Director(s), Technical Leads and Technical Program Managers to create and deliver on a roadmap for your team
  • Drive software engineering standard processes
  • Champion a healthy, collaborative culture and high-output team
  • Help define, build, and embody Cruise engineering culture and principles

What you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in kernel device driver development
  • Strong knowledge of Linux kernel internals (memory management, concurrency/synchronization, device driver framework)
  • Familiarity with the ARM64 architecture
  • Experience with git and follow good software practices like code review, documentation
  • Self-motivated to lead your teams, encourage standard processes, and constantly improve
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with system performance analysis, profiling, and tuning

Bonus points!

  • Experience building or managing performance and safety critical systems or similar
  • Experience with driver development related to machine learning / AI or GPUs
  • Experience in pre-silicon and post-silicon validation device driver development

The salary range for this position is $175,200 - 257,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
