The Senior Manager, Global Alliances will manage alliances of modest complexity and lead alliances that involve regular reporting to/from external alliance partners. The candidate will support senior alliance leaders in managing more complex alliances by leading certain operational aspects of the collaboration while developing his/her strategic alliance skillset and business acumen. Under the guidance of Global Alliance Management leadership, the candidate will interface with internal and partner stakeholders to ensure execution alignment. The candidate will also contribute to group initiatives to support the business and support VP/Group heads in strategic requests that ultimately contribute to team and organizational success.

Key activities

  • With guidance from Alliance Management leadership and oversight from the manager, serve as the primary point of contact for collaborators and ensure execution alignment for alliances of modest complexity.

  • Lead alliances that typically involve periodic reporting to/from external alliance partners, including interaction with the internal project team and the finance team for tracking milestone payments.

  • Work alongside a senior alliance lead on alliances of higher complexity while acquiring strategic alliance skills and contributing to operational success.

  • Assist senior alliance leads on new deals, amendments, expansions, extensions, and terminations of existing collaborations, further expanding business acumen and gaining experience.

  • Travel to partner sites to maintain relationships as needed.

  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings to share perspectives and learnings.

  • Collaborate within the team to foster diversity and inclusion.

  • Contribute to group initiatives and potentially lead the management of key group initiatives that impact the Global Alliances organization.

  • Support VP/Group heads for strategic requests; collaborate with Research, Drug Development, and Commercialization alliance teams to execute strategic requests.

  • Attend various external and Alliance Management trainings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Operational experience; management and organization of meetings.

  • Effective at building relationships and influencing.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise diplomacy and drive conflict resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing partnerships/third parties at various levels of complexity.

  • Experience and comfort with contracts and legal terms.

  • Adequate level of business acumen.
