This is a high-impact role for a product leader who thrives on <strong>turning strategy into execution</strong> and enjoys staying close to technology, delivery, and clients.</p><p>You’ll act as the <strong>proxy to the CPO</strong>, shaping the roadmap across <strong>8–10 interconnected domains</strong> (including Core Payments, Checkout, POS &amp; TMS, Settlement, and Onboarding).<br/> The role offers a unique opportunity to partner directly with our delivery, engineering, and commercial teams to <strong>build one of the most ambitious gateway platforms in the market</strong>.</p><p>It’s ideally suited to a <strong>Senior Product Manager ready to step up</strong> or a <strong>Product Director who prefers to stay hands-on</strong> rather than purely strategic.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Product Portfolio Leadership</p><ul><li>Own the end-to-end product portfolio governance across domains such as Core Payments, Checkout, POS &amp; TMS, Settlement, and Onboarding.</li><li>Translate CPO’s strategic vision into <strong>clear roadmaps, OKRs, and delivery guardrails</strong>.</li><li>Chair the cross-functional product council, ensuring alignment between compliance, engineering, commercial, and operations.</li><li>Drive cross-domain prioritization, dependency management, and delivery sequencing to maximise portfolio impact.</li></ul><p>Team Leadership &amp; Enablement</p><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and coach Product Managers and Product Owners across multiple domains.</li><li>Provide frameworks and context to help teams make informed trade-offs and maintain strategic alignment.</li><li>Embed modern product operating models, Agile discipline, and SDLC best practices across squads.</li><li>Champion continuous learning and the professional growth of the product team.</li></ul><p>Stakeholder Management &amp; Communication</p><ul><li>Serve as the primary escalation point for prioritisation conflicts and trade-off decisions.</li><li>Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and client-side), ensuring transparency and alignment across functions.</li><li>Deliver executive-level portfolio updates, status reports, and risk assessments to governance forums.</li></ul><p>Commercial &amp; Pre-Sales Support</p><ul><li>Partner with the commercial and client engagement teams to support pre-sales discussions and RFP responses.</li><li>Shape value propositions around modular adoption, time-to-market acceleration, and client differentiation.</li><li>Contribute to go-to-market positioning of the Gateway Accelerator as a core product offering.</li></ul><p>Governance &amp; Risk</p><ul><li>Ensure alignment with key industry and regulatory frameworks including PCI DSS, PSD3, AML, ISO 20022, and related scheme requirements.</li><li>Apply risk management and decision-making frameworks to drive accountability and transparency throughout the product lifecycle.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>Experience</p><ul><li>10+ years in product leadership roles within payments, fintech, or financial software companies.</li><li>Proven ability to scale complex, regulated platforms or payment systems end-to-end.</li><li>Experience operating as a CPO proxy or senior product leader across cross-functional, matrixed organisations.</li><li>Strong grounding in Agile delivery and SDLC processes, with a practical, hands-on approach to execution.</li><li>Familiarity with modular enterprise architectures and platform evolution strategy.</li></ul><p>Knowledge</p><ul><li>Deep understanding of modern payments ecosystems including eCommerce, POS, APMs, wallets, reconciliation, onboarding, and fraud.</li><li>Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g. PCI DSS, PSD2/PSD3, AML/KYC, ISO 20022).</li></ul><p>Skills</p><ul><li>Hands-on leadership style – equally comfortable in portfolio reviews or sprint planning.</li><li>Strategic thinker with an execution bias – you can move from vision to delivery with speed and clarity.</li><li>Exceptional stakeholder and communication skills, with confidence navigating ambiguity.</li><li>Collaborative, empathetic, and capable of leading distributed product teams across geographies.</li><li>Able to influence technical and commercial discussions while keeping focus on bus
