Executive Coach

Executive Coach
About the Role
Crisp's Business Coaches are the primary growth partner for our clients – law firm owners who are running (and trying to scale) a business. This isn't executive coaching in the traditional sense: you're not developing a leader inside a large organization with an HR department, a finance team, and layers of support.
You're sitting across from an owner who is the business – who's making decisions about hiring, budgets, marketing spend, and operations largely on their own.
You're also the account owner. Clients may work with other Crisp service functions along the way- marketing, sales, operations- but you hold the relationship and the result: whether they grow, whether they renew, whether they expand. Other teams support the work; you're accountable for the outcome.
We're looking for someone who has actually done this: built, run, or been deeply embedded in growing a small-to-mid-size business, and understands firsthand what it takes to move a company from "surviving" to "scaling." You don't need to be a subject-matter expert in law firm operations, marketing, or finance – but you need to know enough across all of these areas to spot the pain point before the owner does, ask the right question at the right time, and help them build the systems and habits that keep the business moving forward.
What You'll Own
You own the full client relationship and their outcomes – not just the coaching call, but the roadmap, the account health, and the results.
Strategic Growth Roadmap
Build and maintain a strategic growth plan for each client, grounded in their current state, their goals, and the realities of their market
Help owners see around corners – cash flow crunches, hiring gaps, operational bottlenecks – before they become crises
Translate strategy into a cadence of concrete, prioritized next steps
Client-Facing Coaching
Serve as the primary point of contact for the firm owner
Run the core coaching cadence: Annual Firm Review, Quarterly Firm Review, and Monthly Coaching Calls
Bring structure and accountability to every conversation – owners should leave every call knowing what matters most and what to do next
Account Ownership
You are the single point of accountability for each client's outcome: their business growth, and Crisp's retention and renewal of their account. Other Crisp functions support delivery; the result is yours.
Growth and retention aren't two jobs. A client who's growing renews. A client who churns was underserved on growth first, and catching that early is your job, not a signal you wait for from someone else.
You coordinate across other Crisp service functions (marketing, sales, ops) on the client's behalf, closing gaps before the client feels them.
Build and drive Ascension & Renewal Plans to grow and retain accounts
Identify at-risk accounts early and run Recovery Plans to get them back on track
Manage a roster of up to ~45 clients, balancing depth of relationship with volume
Workshops & Intensives
Present and facilitate at workshops and client intensives
Comfortable running a room, not just a 1:1 call
What You Bring
Real operating experience. You've helped stand up, run, or scale a small-to-mid-size business – as a founder, operator, or in a senior role close to the P&L. You know what growth actually takes: hiring, marketing, ops, sales, budgets.
Broad business acumen – and comfortable with that. You don't need to be a craft expert in law firm marketing, sales, or operations, but you can recognize what's coming before it arrives, and to help owners get ahead of it instead of reacting to it.
Financial fluency. You can read a P&L, understand unit economics, and talk credibly with an owner about the financial levers in their business.
Coaching skill, not just advising skill. You know how to ask questions that get an owner to their own answer, not just hand them yours – while still being direct when directness is what's needed.
Commercial ownership mentality. You think about your book of business like a portfolio, not a caseload. Renewal rate and expansion revenue are outcomes of good coaching to you, not a separate number someone else chases.
Track record of account health. You've managed renewals, upsells, or recovered at-risk relationships, and you can talk about churn and expansion with the same fluency you'd use to talk about a client's P&
