Job Description
As the Director of Opinion Leader Marketing, this individual will lead KOL engagement and advisory boards. To be successful, this role requires strong strategic, tactical, operational, and organizational skills. In addition, this person will need cross-functional collaboration and negotiation skills to partner closely across marketing, medical, and the product team to create and execute a cohesive unified KOL and advisory board plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of the commercial Opinion Leader engagement plan to build, cultivate and maintain KOL relationships
- Develop resources for KOL engagement activities such as a database or similar platform for KOL activity
- Partner closely with our compliance team to ensure we are using appropriate insights and metrics to inform the KOL management strategy and activities
- Own speaker bureau strategy and lead a small team to execute against the speaker program
- Lead the development and execution of commercial advisory boards to inform, uncover opportunities and support brand strategy and launch preparation
- Liaise and communicate with internal stakeholders, including medical affairs and product development,
- Partner with marketing operations and promo to guide our regional conference strategy, and identify opportunities to drive peer-to-peer marketing at conferences
Qualifications
- Strong preference for local candidates
- 10+ plus years of related, relevant experience (i.e., marketing, sales, sales training, market research, thought-leader engagement, medical etc.) required
- Minimum of 4+ years of marketing experience within the pharma, biotech, or diagnostic industries
- Demonstrated experience with opinion leader engagement, advisory board, congress, and peer-to-peer activities
- Prior Oncology Diagnostic/Biopharma experience preferred
- Proven strategic agility with an enterprise mindset and ability to operate with an executive presence
- The ability to partner and collaborate across a broad range of internal and external partners is required
- Proven ability to communicate the complex simply (biomarkers, multiple indications, etc.)
- Strong organizational / time management skills; manage and complete multiple projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- MBA (or equivalent) is preferred
