Description
Horrocks is a civil engineering, planning, and professional services firm looking for a career- and goal-oriented individual to join our fast-paced and growing company as a full-time Technical Editor/Writer in the Marketing and Promotions teams. This position requires editing and writing experience, attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a passion for learning. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong editing and communication skills. Being able to organize, prioritize, and deliver under tight deadlines is critical.Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
· Edit and write marketing and promotional/advertising materials, corporate communications, technical documents, and other related content· Develop, maintain, and update corporate and department-specific writing and style resources and templates· Work on special projects· Provide document management· Collaborate with technical, graphics, and/or marketing staff to produce high-quality documents and other materials that are consistent with Horrocks’ writing and graphics styleQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
· A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or a related field· Editing and writing experience· Knowledge of the Associated Press (AP) style guide/ability to follow style guides· Ability to meet deadlines· Attention to detail· Ability to follow instructions· Strong collaboration skills· Comfortable working with a variety of content and project teams· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint· Adobe InDesign experience a plus· Microsoft 365 experience a plusBenefits
