The Opportunity
We seek a strategic and experienced Executive Director, Total Rewards to join our HR leadership team. This role will be instrumental in shaping Ally’s total rewards strategy while aligning it with our broader HR objectives. The ideal candidate will bring broad HR experience, deep expertise in Total Rewards, and the ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment while influencing at the highest levels of the organization.
The Work Itself
Total Rewards Strategy & Governance
- Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with Ally’s EVP, culture, and business objectives.
- Ensure compensation and benefits programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CHRO and HRLT on all matters related to compensation, benefits, and governance.
Executive Compensation & Board Engagement
- Oversee executive compensation programs, including design, administration, and compliance with say‑on‑pay and investor expectations.
- Prepare and present materials for the Compensation, Nominating & Governance Committee (CNGC) and Employee Benefits Committee (EBC); serve as a voting member of the Accrual Governance Committee (AGC) and EBC.
- Partner with senior leadership and external advisors to ensure alignment with governance standards and market competitiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, board members, regulators, and investors.
