Job Description
AECOM has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Train Control Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic Maryland Purple Line Transit project team.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to deployment of a safe and reliable transit system. You will provide owner oversight of the testing and commissioning of the wayside and onboard train control system. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, high levels of discretion, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position will be required to be full-time in the project office in Riverdale, MD. Must be flexible in working hours and available to work at night or during weekends as needed to oversee testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve train control and integration test procedures.
- Oversee execution of on-site train control and integration testing.
- Review and approve train control and integration test reports.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Perform a variety of tasks related to train control testing and commissioning and systems integration.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of train control testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 5 years of relevant experience in railway signaling engineering, verification and validation testing and commissioning, or maintenance
- Experience in troubleshooting complex issues involving internal and external interfacing systems
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience with Siemens Trackguard Westrace Mk II and/or Siemens Trainguard MT Zub is a plus.
- Experience with providing problem-solving solutions for transit control systems
- Experience in relevant software applications or tools.
- Experience with working collaboratively and independently as part of a team.
