The Opportunity

Now that 98% of Fortune 500 Companies use Postman at some level, we are set to expand our Enterprise presence exponentially over the coming year. To help us scale, we are looking to add a Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to the Legal Team who can work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup, to structure, draft, negotiate, & review complex customer contracts. The Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel will independently review contracts & negotiate customer privacy & information security terms tied to six & seven figure deals with Fortune 500 caliber customers.

What You’ll Do

• Work cross-functionally to proactively maintain Postman’s compliance with global privacy, data protection, & cyber security laws & frameworks
• Draft, negotiate, & maintain data processing & other privacy-related agreements, policies, & related-documentation
• Review customer privacy & information security terms & act as the subject matter expert on customer calls
• Advise the company on a wide-range of regulatory, compliance, privacy & cybersecurity matters & provide requisite trainings
• Collaborate closely with security & product team members to operationalize privacy & cybersecurity initiatives
• Proactively identify areas of risk & develop mitigation strategies 
• Engage in relevant thought leadership
• Provide legal support with security incidents

About You

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent with a license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of relevant experience with privacy & data protection issues, in-house experience preferred 
• Expertise analyzing, applying, & operationalizing global privacy regimes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) & data security standards 
• Experience negotiating privacy & information security terms in technology, vendor, & service provider agreements
• Experience counseling on cybersecurity legal issues, including incident response
• Passion for data privacy & a desire to stay up-to-date on all relevant global developments & trends
• A CIPP certification preferably

What Else?

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area & the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from  $165,909 to $195,187 plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, & experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, potential spot awards, & a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the San Francisco Bay Area & the U.S.
