The School of Public Policy and Management in Heinz College is seeking a Director of Public Policy and Analytics Programs to help define the direction of prestigious, forward-thinking graduate programs, including the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) and specialized pathways in Data Analytics, Health Analytics, and Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will play a key role in evolving these programs to meet the challenges of today's data-driven world, advancing their reach, relevance, and impact.
Reporting to the Associate Dean and working closely with Admissions, Marketing, Academic Services, Advising, Student Affairs, and Career Services, you will help guide and implement pivotal initiatives across the programs. You will collaborate with school leadership to implement forward-looking changes that position our programs for continued success and serve as a public ambassador - building partnerships, aligning curricula with market demands, and raising national visibility.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Stay informed on public sector and healthcare industry trends, ensuring programs align with workforce demands.
Collaborate with Admissions, Career Services, and Marketing to recruit students and increase transparency with employers.
Build and maintain external partnerships that support the college and improve student opportunities.
Apply project and program management tools to facilitate teamwork and ensure flawless execution.
Maintain continuous strategic evaluation of academic program offerings and their alignment with market needs.
Lead all aspects of the capstone project lifecycle, from prioritizing to student team management and assessment.
Lead the planning and implementation of new initiatives, such as partnerships, online and hybrid offerings, and certificates.
Develop and implement measures to evaluate program performance and outcomes for reporting reasons.
Optimize program operations and run budget(s) and financial forecasts.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining a focus on strategic goals.
Close collaboration with faculty, college leadership, functional offices, other academic program directors, and participants external to the institution.
Leverage advanced computer and database management skills, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Maintain confidentiality and data protection when handling confidential information.
Capable of performing successfully in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, ensuring timely completion of tasks with accuracy and high-quality output.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business, Technology, or related field.
At least five (5) years of related experience in decision science/AI.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

CMU or equivalent experience will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
