Research Scientist - Open Architecture Security (some Hybrid schedule available)
Riverside ResearchAbout the role
Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems.
Job Number: 1360
Open architectures remain a key component of the DoD’s plan to move faster and transition technologies into the hands of the warfighter. However, as interoperability allows for systems to be repurposed and reused, their attack surface increases. A key component of addressing these concerns is introducing security at all areas of an interoperable system. At Riverside Research, the Secure and Resilient Systems group works to develop tools and techniques that can be used within open-architecture systems in order to stop adversaries in their tracks. Through application of security best-practices surrounding input, encryption, policy, and more, our group develops security for some of the most mission-critical systems used by the DoD today.
Riverside Research is seeking a dynamic and growth focused entry-level research scientist to support research and development of cutting-edge open architecture security technologies. As a key member of our Secure and Resilient Systems team, the research scientist will interface with government research organizations (e.g. DARPA, IARPA, service labs, etc.), work on existing R&D contracts, and develop cutting-edge technologies for transition to the warfighter. The research scientist will interface with team members across Riverside Research locations. The research scientist will contribute to a diverse team responsible for developing security technologies in open architecture systems. They will get hands-on experience working towards and developing open architecture specifications in the interest of DoD partners. They will develop software and systems that conform to and interact with open architecture standards. They will also contribute to technical writing in their research area. The research scientist should have hands on experience in some of the following domains: security software engineering, open architecture security, and general software engineering.
All Riverside Research opportunities require US citizenship.
