JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics seeks to hire an undergraduate student or recent graduate to work part-time as a Research Assistant. The selected candidate will contribute to laboratory research efforts, including calibration and instrument research for the BlackCAT CubeSat and its associated detector system and contribute to instrumentation maintenance, data collection, data analysis, and execute research work on X-ray detectors and associated instrumentation and X-ray data sets for the detectors themselves, as well as science data from flight mission observations. Duties could also include studies of associated high energy astrophysical sources that are relevant to the above instruments.  Selected candidate will report to Dr. Abe Falcone.  Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
