About the role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, PunchOut Catalog - Strategic Sourcing is an experienced professional with a broad knowledge and understanding of key sourcing and procurement practices as well as of the Ariba Supplier Network and Guided Buying. This role is responsible for the development and strategy of IPG’s catalog buying experience in Ariba with efforts to gain as much transactional efficiency as possible. This role will collaborate with other key stakeholders leveraging relationships to further gain alignment, drive content, and expand the use of catalogs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Works closely with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team members and leadership to execute catalog buying strategy
  • Coaches Sourcing Managers and Procurement regarding best practices in negotiating the optimal structure of pricing data for use in catalogs
  • Partners with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement and IPG Agencies to identify strategies to promote intercompany offerings alongside vendor enabled Ariba catalogs
  • Liaison between IPG’s suppliers to ensure catalog requirements and configuration are accurately identified for catalog deployment on the SAP Ariba platform
  • Coordinates with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team members to establish, maintain and decommission contract catalogs within Ariba
  • Guides and trains Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team members in requirements gathering and defining strategies to recommend best case catalog usage
  • Solicits and evaluates feedback from end users regarding the ease and accuracy of locating desired content in the continual improvement of digitizing catalog content
  • Optimizes search and content display across the Ariba platform
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for catalog transactional processing
  • Uses catalog expertise to troubleshoot issues with supplier stakeholders and Ariba catalog support
  • Regular spend analysis inclusive of catalog and non-catalog spend to determine catalog recommendations and supply base rationalization
  • Create, maintain, and modernize catalog templates for various catalog types and offerings
  • Oversees the collection of catalog data across categories in support of reporting, including sustainability
  • Reviews and recommends new features to be adopted in support of enhanced catalog usability for both user experience and reporting
  • Makes improvements to the catalog management processes and ensures standard processes are followed
  • Partners with Change Management team to develop communication strategies to both internal and external stakeholders to gain support to drive and maintain engagement momentum.
  • Supports the development of training requirements and guides suppliers in the catalog enablement process where required
  • Ensures that appropriate auditing is in place an ensure catalogs and pricing complies with agreements

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Administration or Supply Chain, preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Ariba, Coupa, or similar platforms 
  • 2+ years of experience specifically in catalog management
  • Strong understanding of Source to Pay and Transactional Procurement processes (with a focus on P2P content building and maintenance).
  • Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel/Google sheets) skills (e.g. ability to set up pivot tables, analyze data)
  • Customer service oriented and collaborative
  • Comfortable presenting to groups, leading projects, and working on matrixed teams
  • Skilled in managing numerous projects at different phases and adjusting to changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail are desirable

NYC SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
