Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Environmental & Facility Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer with a background in construction management and facility operations.

The primary responsibility of the role is managing construction projects (facility equipment and systems renewals and local building additions/modifications) at the manufacturing plant. 

Reporting to the Manager of Facility Operations, the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facility department's objective to provide management to ensure projects and systems are designed and completed to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs for Toyota Kentucky (TMMK).

Additionally, the role will have responsibility for maintenance and operations of facility ancillary support systems.

What you’ll be doing

  • Technical support for the TMMK manufacturing plant in the areas of equipment and systems renewal, design, and construction, including the development and maintenance of equipment and systems-related standards.

  • Development of criteria for completion of renewal and construction projects.

  • Experience in equipment and systems planning, project management, construction, and system startup/check to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.

  • Supporting facility ancillary equipment and systems, including preventive maintenance plans, corrective maintenance activities, renewals, and maintenance support in the systems' daily operations.

  • Prepare and implement operational and maintenance improvement strategies

  • Lead improvement strategies for core systems

  • Confirming equipment and systems annual renewal plans with other local facility engineers

  • Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with the customer to support their needs.

  • Leading problem-solving activities and implementing strategies for long-term success

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or 3 to 5 years of experience with facilities, equipment, and systems

  • Experience with operations and maintenance of facility equipment and systems

  • Experience providing comprehensive analysis with specific data/details using Power BI or similar automation software

  • Experience working with multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil)

  • Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook)

  • Ability to work overtime up to 15% on the weekends, holidays and shutdowns.

Added bonus if you have

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)

  • Experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher)

  • Experience in industrial ancillary systems (lighting, roadways, storm drainage, etc.)
