Summary: Using Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) such as Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3), Games for Training (GFT), and using low-overhead simulations drivers (e.g. DXTRS) deliver individual, collective and leader training to Government personnel to build collective and individual training readiness. Additionally, you will measure the effectiveness of training through collection and analysis of post-training assessments and after-action reviews to refine future training requirements and materials

Job Description:

  • Operate supported unit MCIS and conduct over the shoulder training for unit MCIS operators
  • Provide specific expertise in MCIS, gaming, and simulations (particularly medical) as requested
  • Supports training event EXCON/HICON/response cell operations, and AARs
  • Conducts leader/staff individual and collective command post, exercise, and institutional training IAW current doctrine and DATE / Operational Environment
  • Reports to and takes direction from the Training Support Lead
  • Maintain and operate virtual training systems, including Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3), Virtual Battlespace 4 (VBS4), and TC3X medical gaming simulators.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot gaming hardware, local area networks (LAN), and peripheral devices prior to training sessions.
  • Develop, test, and modify custom training scenarios, maps, and digital avatars based on specific military unit training objectives.
  • Facilitate classroom instruction and hands-on exercises to teach students navigation, tactical communication, and combat casualty care in a virtual environment.
  • Conduct After-Action Reviews (AARs) by extracting digital telemetry, playing back recorded exercises, and analyzing team performance with students.
  • Provide technical support and operator-level maintenance on gaming computers, VR headsets, and specialized simulation controllers.
  • Update software patches, terrain databases, and 3D asset libraries to ensure simulations reflect current real-world operating environments.
  • Document student attendance, system utilization metrics, and training feedback for required monthly status reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed US Army Senior Leader Course or higher
  • Completed formal course on one or more US Army MCIS
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in military training/instruction
  • SME in one or more MCIS, tools, and training simulations, specifically CPCE, VBS3, and DXTRS.
  • Experience in operations and training requirements for a Battalion (or higher) command post.
  • Possess a current US SECRET clearance
