The Administrative Manager facilitates the operations of the Property & Evidence department, programs and services, develops Property & Evidence policies and procedures, manages budgets, establishes and modifies office systems, and implements process improvements. This position oversees staff including performance management and evaluations, determines staffing needs and workload trends, recommends new positions, and resolves daily departmental and personnel issues.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience handling articles of evidence.

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications

  • Other combinations of education or professional level-related experience may substitute for the education or experience on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements

  • Within six (6) months of employment or assignment, must train, functionally test, and affirm the proficiency of Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Network TOC certification - retest every two (2) years.
  • Must be able to pass the County Forklift Proficiency License and be certified to operate a forklift – recertify every three (3) years.
  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
  • Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Experience in law enforcement.
  • Five (5) years of experience handling articles of evidence including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Essential Job Tasks

  • Oversees and manages complex operations in the Property and Evidence Division through subordinate supervisors.
  • Establishes short- and long-term goals, strategies, and priorities for the division to support the goals and mission of MCSO.
  • Ensures division accountability and adherence to applicable laws, policies and procedures.
  • Supervises assigned staff and manages division personnel-related activities including hiring, terminations, performance management, and training.
  • Establishes performance goals and objectives for annual performance evaluations for personnel; develops corrective action plans and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
