The Mars Petcare Division, Science & Diagnostics (SDx), is seeking an accomplished corporate affairs leader to lead Corporate Affairs for our North America region which includes veterinary diagnostics made up of reference labs, in-house diagnostics, imaging services and equipment and software (Antech), genomics (Wisdom Panel, Antagene), and an online pet pharmacy (Vetsource). This leader will be responsible for designing and executing a regional Corporate Affairs strategy that aligns with our business objectives and our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.
As a key member of the SDx Corporate Affairs team and the CA Leadership Team, this individual will develop and execute the regional (North America) CA strategy for SDx. They will partner closely with the CA function lead and global leads for internal and external communications to ensure a unified approach. They will partner with NA leadership teams to deliver business objectives in the region and will stay closely connected to the NA genomics and Vetsource businesses.
In their role they will lead on transformation and internal communications in support of an improved customer experience to drive growth acceleration in the region. They will partner with the regional leaders to drive one team united behind strategy and culture. They will lead change communications on transitions to joint financial and commercial systems, as well as around lab footprint changes, new tests and technologies, and connecting to non-desk Associates. They will also lead on issues and crisis communications in the region and ensure awareness and readiness on relevant public affairs topics.
They will lead earned and owned media strategy as well as thought leadership to build credibility and differentiation of SDx’s unique offering with key stakeholders. This includes developing a strategy to create the environment for our innovations, supporting NPS results, and showing our differentiation. They will develop and execute a communications and engagement strategy for trade shows and visible leadership for our NA leaders.
The Target Pay Range for this position is $213,000-267,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement internal communications strategy that effectively conveys the business strategy and clarifies each Associate’s role in delivering it.
Partner with the regional Leadership Team to align the Corporate Affairs strategy with business priorities ensuring support for regional goals and objectives.
Collaborate closely with the NA Leadership Team and Operations Leadership Team to lead change management communications and transformation initiatives that support operational efficiency and business strategy execution in NA.
Provide strategic leadership on NA Leader and Associate communications, driving pride, engagement and connectivity, ensuring consistent message cascade and alignment.
Work with People & Organization leaders to bring the division’s culture and behavioral shifts to life, reinforcing the vision and strategic priorities in NA.
Lead on issues and crisis management on topics impacting NA business, reputation and Associates.
Partner with NA Public Affairs leads to ensure understanding of issues and managing their impact.
Develop and execute an owned and earned media strategy in support of business objectives and innovations, creating the environment and driving industry leadership.
Create a communications and engagement strategy for trade shows, external partnerships and visible leadership for our NA leaders.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required
15+ years’ experience in Corporate Affairs in an agency or in-house.
Experience in external and internal communications, as well as crisis and issues management required.
