About the role

Description

The Senior Vice President, Information Technology, will be significantly involved in all of the IT and Data Management operations for the Club and Miami Freedom Park District & Stadium. They will also help support relationships with internal customers, third-party vendors and other associated entities. This position will have a strong emphasis on maintaining high levels of customer service and technology deliverables. 


 

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Miami Freedom Park:

I. Technology Plan Creation and Review 

  • Lead the creation of the District Technology Master Plan for Miami Freedom Park.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for wireless, broadcast, and wired provisions. 
  • Conduct needs analyses, peer reviews, and confirm installation, integration, and engineering requirements. 
  • Define target user experience and integrate with stadium technology where beneficial. 
  • Create use cases for user experience and determine infrastructure needs. 
  • Benchmark against comparable projects. 
  • Prepare a schedule in collaboration with the overall development plan. 
  • Establish the business structure for service provision. 
  • Review and oversee the Stadium Technology Plan for Miami Freedom Park. 
  • Evaluate current design documents and coordinate with the design team. 
  • Define and integrate owner technology needs into the design. 
  • Create use cases for stadium occupants and determine requirements. 
  • Review existing contracts/vendors to identify gaps or valuable additions. 
  • Define target user experience and ensure technology supports these goals. 

II. Plan Implementation

  • Implement the District Technology Master Plan for Miami Freedom Park. 
  • Identify infrastructure, hardware, and software needs. 
  • Lead design, installation, and startup processes. 
  • Review progress drawings and provide guidance on necessary changes. 
  • Oversee hardware construction, manage submittals, negotiate changes, conduct inspections, and resolve issues. 
  • Lead systems start-up, integration testing, and manage final punch-list resolutions. 
  • Implement the Stadium Plan for Miami Freedom Park. 
  • Review progress drawings and provide necessary guidance. 
  • Direct hardware construction and installation. 
  • Manage submittals, negotiate changes, and participate in inspections. 

III. Securing Partnerships and Vendor Service Agreements

  • Manage vendor and service provider agreements. 
  • Identify candidates for both district and stadium plans. 
  • Coordinate with the Business Intelligence and Sponsorship team. 
  • Draft and issue RFPs, define scopes of work, organize vendor presentations, and review proposals. 
  • Conduct financial and performance analyses, manage post-proposal processes, and negotiate final terms. 

IV. Leadership and Resource Management

  • Maintain industry knowledge and leadership. 
  • Stay updated on technology trends in sports facilities and mixed-use districts. 
  • Establish benchmarks and provide recommendations. 
  • Ensure business understanding. 
  • Advocate and negotiate the best agreements for SaaS and other business structures as part of the technology plans. 
  • Identify staffing needs for Miami Freedom Park and develop teams as needed. 

V. Technology Strategy

  • Develop and implement an information technology strategy that aligns and supports Miami Freedom Park’s long-term business goals and vision.  

Inter Miami CF:

  • Oversee all technology needs and all technology-related projects from inception to completion for Inter Miami CF with support from the Director of IT.  
  • Ensure the continuous operation and maintenance of the Club’s current stadium and Training Facility’s infrastructure.  
  • Develop, update, and manage the Club’s IT policies, including compliance policy needs to address IT security.  
  • Develop and manage the Club’s IT budget and ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency across the organization.  
  • Lead and develop technology team, ensuring that staff have the resources needed to support all projects and initiatives.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.  
  • Previous Stadium / Venue technology experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in information technology. 
  • At least 7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP, SVP) overseeing large-scale technology operations and projects.
