Job Description Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer in PayPal’s Alternate Payments method (APM) team, you will help design and build a robust product to support PayPal’s existing APM products, as well as drive innovation in alternate payments platform. You will leverage your expertise and experience to design and build systems that further PayPal’s goal of bringing best in class customer experience to provides global payment acceptance solutions to all merchant/partner segments at PayPal.

Meet our Team:
We are the Alternate Payment Methods Engineering Team primarily responsible for payments that are not run through credit or debit card schemes. Our focus is to enable integrations to local payment options and plug them into PayPal merchant facing and consumer facing products. Our goal is to increase the PayPal share of checkout by letting customers have a choice to use their favorite local payment options to do e-commerce and online payments. With APM we increase PayPal TPV (~1 – 2 % Annually) and provide a competitive advantage by enabling merchants to integrate with a single payment provider, PayPal.

Job Description:

We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated senior engineer with great skills to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust systems and services. You will work closely with architects, other key engineering teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions that drive our business objectives. You will also mentor junior developers and contribute to the strategic direction of our product architecture. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Product Development: Oversee the architecture and development of backend systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. 
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best practices in software development. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, product managers and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions. 
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, performance,
