A Day in the Life

At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

Careers that Change Lives
The Medtronic Diabetes business is one of the most exciting, dynamic, and challenging spaces in medical devices. More than 463 million people worldwide suffer from diabetes, and this is expected to reach close to 600 million in 10 years. The diabetes device industry is unique in that technologies available to monitor and manage diabetes are starting to converge with consumer electronics technology. As such, the experience is evolving; people living with diabetes have a stronger voice in therapy choice, care is transitioning away from specialists, and the role of artificial intelligence is elevating care.

As a User Experience Designer in the Customer Centered Design team, you are passionate about human-centered design and have a deep understanding of the process and craft, but also have a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team (User Research, UI and Industrial Design) and collaborate on new product features and user experience enhancements for patients, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating exceptional design solutions is a requirement for application.

  • Collaborate on the creation of interactive prototypes for mobile apps

  • Participate in usability testing of prototypes, documenting findings and making design recommendations

  • Create design specs (user flows, prototypes, user interface design specifications) to communicate concepts and designs to internal partners

  • Work with developers to maintain design intent and bring concepts to life

  • Support creation and maintenance of a library of design elements to ensure reusable, proven and tested patterns are clearly documented and consistently implemented

  • Navigate regulated product development process to deliver design intent that addresses user and business needs

  • Prepare clear and effective oral and written reports of current design activities status, progress and plan, as required by project or department management
