POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for the direction and oversight of the Ministry Outreach Center, including tracking, receiving, storage, and distribution of gift-in-kind donations, oversight of Client Services operations and oversight of the Ministry Outreach Center’s Vehicle Donation Program, and fleet management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
- Oversees and coaches Receiving and Distribution Supervisor in systems design, process management and leadership development.
- Upholds quality standards for donations that are used internally and those distributed to commodity assistance partners.
- Oversees receiving and processing of donations to ensure waste minimization, efficient evaluation and maximized gift-in-kind value.
- Ensures all processed donations are weighed, recorded, and distributed properly for gift-in-kind purposes.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness throughout warehouse to ensure safety.
- Prepares and monitors Ministry Outreach Center budget.
- Generates purchase orders for necessary equipment and supplies.
- Performs equipment safety checks on machinery, forklifts, etc.
Gift-in-Kind (GIK)
- Reviews gift-in-kind forms and submits them to the Accounting Department.
- Reports textile gift-in-kind donations.
- Meets or exceeds monthly and yearly gift-in-kind goals for any area of responsibility. The yearly budget is 13 million dollars.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for other Denver Rescue Mission departments regarding unique gift-in-kind donations or questions.
Supervises & Oversees Client Services Operation
- Supervises and coaches Client Services Coordinator.
- Drives continuous improvement in Client Services operations.
- Assesses ongoing client needs and trends to further program development.
Supervises the Warehouse Food Coordinator
- Coordinates with the Warehouse Food Coordinator regarding food inventory control and distribution.
- Oversees the food ordering and inventory system for donated food and food service supplies to be delivered to the kitchens.
- Provides oversight in maintaining custodial supply pars.
- Minimizes waste of donated and purchased food and food service supplies.
Supervises & Oversees Vehicle Donation Program
- Supervises and coaches Vehicle Program Office Coordinator in systems design, process management and leadership development.
- Promotes synergy and teamwork between Vehicle Program Office Coordinator and fleet mechanics.
- Ensures Vehicle Program Office Coordinator is meeting or exceeding goals in vehicle donation, revenue, and gifting.
- Prepares and monitors Vehicle Program budget, providing accountability for the Vehicle Program Office Coordinator in the day-to-day management and administration of the budget ($575,000 in revenue and $375,000 in expenses).
Supervises & Oversees Senior Fleet Mechanic & Fleet Operations
- Supervises and coaches Senior Fleet Mechanic in systems design, process management and leadership development.
- Ensures the DRM fleet is functioning safely, upholding a routine vehicle inspection of all vehicles including the use of GeoTabs.
- Coordinates purchases of new fleet vehicles.
Safety & Liability
- Oversees response to all fleet vehicle accidents, performing investigations and ensuring appropriate files and documentation regarding vehicle accidents are provided.
- Oversees negotiations with insurance partners and claimants to resolve vehicle accident claims.
- Oversees the response to all potential general liability incidents at the Ministry Outreach Center involving clients, outside guests and volunteers, including investigations as required. Ensures appropriate files and documentation regarding these incidents are maintained.
- Serves as member of Denver Rescue Mission Safety Council for the Ministry Outreach Center and executes all required duties.
Management & Additional Responsibilities
- Ensures that staff across all areas of responsibility provide exceptional service and support to Denver Rescue Mission staff and facilities.
- Maintains clear and effective communication with the Senior Director of Operations.
- Partners with Denver Rescue Mission departments to drive logistical support for events, drives or other business needs, e.g., turkey drives, food drives, and other holiday events.
- Other duties as assigned.
