Job Description Summary
Conceives, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for solving a variety of unique and complex engineering problems. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering solutions. Recognized as an expert in theories and principles of the professional field, as demonstrated by significant accomplishments and contributions.
- Responsible for ensuring products, equipment, materials, etc. are designed and developed to the highest standard.
- Defines and establishes design constraints.
- Conceives and plans engineering development and feasibility studies.
- Collaborates with management to define technical needs.
- Coordinates and integrates efforts of other units of the company, including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, etc.
- Serves as an advisor to other technical personnel.

- Ownership of Automation Projects: Lead end-to-end project lifecycle, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring seamless integration of automation solutions into our manufacturing facilities.
- Innovative Problem Solver: Collaborate multi-functionally with R&D, Production and industry experts to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation, devising ingenious solutions that enhance production capabilities and quality.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage and develop your understanding of automation technologies, such as innovative processing and packaging design, robotics, and IoT, to design and implement pioneering manufacturing systems. Use and improves specifications and standards for processing and packaging equipment, taking takeaways from each project, and codifying them for future use.
- Project Variety: Supervise diverse automation initiatives, including designing and deploying pick and place robots for precise packaging, food processing and kitchen system as well as fleets of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to optimize material movement.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. In addition, be part of building the strategic roadmap and funding for Manufacturing Automation.
- Team Leadership: Work multi-functional with a versatile team of engineers, process and packaging experts while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high-performance collaboration.
- Financial Acuity: Create preliminary budgetary estimates across multiple teams (manufacturing, process, packaging, process, infrastructure, and utilities) to guide the business towards the best ROI capital investments.
- Project Management: Develop project design, detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, timelines and bid documentation for capital projects that are identified as high potential for investment. Lead the conceptualization, business case, development, and implementation of pivotal initiatives. Figures out project structure, resource needs and associated skills to successfully implement the project securing external resources when appropriate to deliver investments per the agreed timing and scope. Develops a risk management strategy for the project and implements associated processes and tools to ensure effective identification, monitoring and mitigation of project risk. Implement robust project and financial controls, including procedures for change control / management, cost control / forecasting, physical progress / productivity measurement, and invoice review / payment.
- CAPEX: Define and decide the final project budgets and schedules by leading the Capital Appropriations Requests (CARs) submission serving as the speaker, advocate to capital investment committees.
