At SIA enterprise, we develop protective measures that harness Akamai's real-time cloud security intelligence. You will help us build a world-class scalable backend platform. In this role, you'll collaborate with multiple teams to build cloud cutting-edge cloud services and environments for the SIA Data Platform.

As a Senior Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing scalable big data solutions on cloud platforms
  • Developing and maintaining data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and analyzing large datasets
  • Creating new features from scratch, enhancing existing features, and optimizing existing functionality for an Akamai BigData AI  scale solution.
  • Collaborating with various engineering teams, Data Science, product, and operations to develop one of the most innovative components of the product.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in backend engineering or big data positions.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP or Linode
  • Strong programming skills in at least one programming language such as Java or Scala  And Python or any other OO programming language.
  • experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Flink or ClickHouse 
  • Experience working with one of the following event streaming technologies: RabbitMQ, Kafka, Amazon SQS, experience working with Data Engeing workflow engines such as AirFlow, Agro Workflow
  • Advantage - Experience with Data Lake data modeling 
  • Have experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments
