QC Sample Management Associate (Columbia, MD)

As a member of the Quality Control (QC) team, the associate will be responsible for accurately inspecting raw materials and incoming samples for QC according to Standard Operating Procedures. You will be expected to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will be expected to ensure that turnaround times are met for all raw material duties.
What will you be doing?
Receives and Inspects samples into QC.
Prepares samples for testing and ships to external testing facilities.
Performs timely inspection and tracking of raw materials.
Initiates, performs, and completes work orders and MDRs.
Documents performance, results, and inspections according to SOPs.
Reviews documents for compliance with specifications and reports anomalies.
Investigates Out of Specification results or non-conformance.
Investigates and assists with writing deviations.
Contacts manufacturers and/or distributors to resolve raw material issues.
Reads, understands and follows SOPs to comply with all applicable regulations.
May write and revise supporting SOPs, specifications, and training materials.
May assist with training for new employees on sample management duties.
Maintains spreadsheets, logs and present metrics.
Assist with the lab upkeep daily.
Interacts effectively with company management and internal departments and multiple manufacturers/distributors as needed.

What will you need to be successful?
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or related field required
Experience:
0 – 1 year experience training in aseptic technique, GMP or other GxP training preferred
Proficient in other compliance fields, i.e., cGMP, GLPs, GDP, GxPs.
Ensures turn-around-times are met.
Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritize workload.
Experience with Microsoft based applications (MS WORD and EXCEL), and ability to learn internal computer systems.
Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events; excellent time management skills.
Ability to work consistently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including possible off-shifts and weekends.

Work Environment:
Office and Lab Environment
Fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
Core hours are M-F 9 am – 5:30 pm, and you may occasionally be required to work earlier or later as needed.
Physical Requirement:
Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
Must be able to sit or stand in a stationary position 80% of the time.
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as printers and a zebra printer.
This person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the warehouse, coldroom and laboratory to access raw materials or shipping supplies.
The person in this position frequently communicates via email or phone with other departments and the outside partners and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
