Summary of Job Duties:
The Student Success Librarian will work closely with librarians, faculty, and university partners to lead and develop library services that support student success, recruitment, and retention. At the heart of this position is a chance to harness evidence from a growing body of retention and library research that suggests that academic libraries have a positive impact on student outcomes. This position, in accordance, with the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s strategic plan, will support student-centered learning, focusing on building library research skills and engaging students with the tools of scholarship. This is an entry-level position. Research, publication, and/or service to the University and profession are expected for continuing advancement in this faculty position.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: Master’s Degree in Library Science, or Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from a graduate library program accredited by the American Library Association or receipt of MLS/MLIS by start date. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.
