Director, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Americas - Carmel, IN (Onsite/Hybrid)

The Director, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for executing the global manufacturing strategy for manufacturing across the Americas region within Allegion.  The position is responsible for driving the strategy and processes to ensure manufacturing strategy play books, road maps and investments best satisfy our customers’ needs while effectively utilizing Allegion assets.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and drive the strategy development and execution of the Americas manufacturing strategy in alignment with the global manufacturing strategy that supports and drives Allegion’s long-range plan and annual deliverables
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Americas business unit and manufacturing leaders; influence and inform business unit strategy and long-range plans thru close collaboration and stewardship
  • Drive alignment to and execution of Allegion’s Industry 4.0 strategy and Allegion Intelligent Manufacturing (AIM) initiative. Identify current opportunities for automation applications and new technologies for Operations, support site implementations
  • Lead the implementation of core / non-core process, assessments, and playbooks to ensure effective facility / product / process transitions & processes are in place
  • Lead, coach and develop the America’s team across multiple disciplines; build and develop capabilities and strategic skill sets which drive competitive advantage and complement operations
  • Inform and influence the development and effective execution of capital investment within the business units, supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP)
  • Champion and drive the global implementation of Total Productive Maintenance across all sites, including critical spare parts management
  • Collaborate with NPD teams to ensure that new products are released with adequate levels of manufacturability and automation
  • Lead and drive collaboration with Procurement and Operations to implement make vs. buy process, assessments, and playbooks
  • Develop core manufacturing process expertise to leverage globally
  • Support mergers and acquisitions by properly evaluating target risks within operations and developing/implementing risk mitigation actions

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
  • 10+ years of combined relevant automation, manufacturing and integrated supply chain experience such as industrial, mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical engineering or electronics preferred; 8+ year’s relevant AME experience preferred
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Travel required: 60% annually including domestic and international
  • Experience leading a global team
  • Understanding of global materials management and supply chain / logistics Management
  • Experience successfully leading and managing large scale projects
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills (ability to train others at multiple levels of the organization)
  • Experience and demonstrated results leading or driving improvements of manufacturing footprint utilization / rationalization
  • Demonstrated drive for results working in a global multi-sector matrix organization
  • Demonstrated influencing, relationship building, teamwork and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated implementations new technologies and automation efforts
