Trade Compliance - Senior Trade Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, regulations, and policies. This role supports the company’s global trade activities by providing expertise in customs regulations, classification, valuation, licensing, and trade agreements. The Senior Analyst partners with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to mitigate compliance risks, enhance operational efficiency, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
• Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other trade laws.
• Perform HTS classification, ECCN determination, and valuation of goods.
• Review import and export documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the preparation and submission of license applications, permits, and regulatory filings.
• Advise business units on free trade agreements (FTAs), duty drawback, CTPAT, and other trade programs.
• Provide training to employees and stakeholders on trade compliance policies and best practices.
• Liaise with government agencies (CBP, BIS, DDTC, FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.) to resolve compliance issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance manuals.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5–7 years of trade compliance or customs brokerage experience required.
• U.S. Customs Broker License strongly preferred.
• Experience with import/export compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Amber Road, Integration Point).
• Strong knowledge of HTS, ECCN, ITAR, EAR, and trade compliance programs.

Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements
• Hybrid or office-based environment depending on company structure.
• Minimal to moderate travel (5–15%) for audits, training, or meetings with regulators/clients.
• Position requires minimal physical exertion that includes computer processing, fax/copy/can machine, telephone, calculator, etc.
• Considerable time spent at computer terminal focusing on a monitor could result in eye or back strain
