Diageo North America seeks a Strategic Partnerships Manager to provide critical operational and programmatic support in building partnerships with leading external organizations. This newly built role affords an exciting opportunity to ensure Diageo is well connected to a network of organizations advancing social impact, inclusion, empowerment, responsibility, sustainability in support of business objectives. This program advances Diageo’s business and public policy goals and supports license to operate and reputation in market.
The Manager will report to and work with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and provide crucial support on contract development and management and performance measurement and reporting around strategic partnerships. They will work cross-functionally across the business and externally in helping manage partner relationships. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in corporate community and constituent affairs, strong internal and external relationship building skills, excellent communication and presentation skills and knowledge of the network of partners that are critical to Diageo.
Crucial Duties And Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement multi-year contracts and funding agreements
- Expertise in budget development and expense tracking and working alongside internal budget and finance teams
- Articulate critical metrics, results and scope of works
- Lead event planning and activation of Diageo brand in coordination with marketing and partners
- Support a cross-functional team charged with driving the partner strategy across the business.
- Work with employee resource groups and be entrepreneurial and tapped into various brand campaigns to improve impact and connectivity
- Support development of materials that showcase Diageo’s Society and Corporate Relations agenda, such as PowerPoint decks, talking points, and other materials
- Conduct research, partner analysis and industry insights
- Advance Diageo’s reputation through external engagements, speaking and thought leadership
Required Education, Skills And Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in public policy, communications or business.
- 5 + yrs in community and/or constituent affairs, partner management, corporate affairs and/or social impact.
- Experience in working on cross-functional teams across a matrixed organization
- Experience in developing partnership and funding agreements, setting critical metrics and deliverables, and advancing programmatic objectives through partner partnerships
- Experience in corporate social impact and responsibility and reporting requirements
- Connections to external organizations across the inclusion, opportunity, diversity, multicultural, sustainability, responsibility and social impact sectors.
- Standout colleague who is a self-starter and collaborative, adaptable and passionate about their work and innovative in solving problems, overcoming challenges, and measuring and achieving goals.
- Understanding of corporate relations and government relations functions a plus
- Understanding of consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry a plus
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment, with outstanding attention to detail and timing.
