Working as the Director of Financial Planning, you will be responsible for leading a team of financial professionals to drive the financial planning and advice strategy within UMB’s Private Wealth Management business. Managing the Financial Planning function will include working to retain business and address new business opportunities through a planning led approach. This includes the growth strategy for both personal and business planning opportunities. You will be responsible for the adoption and integration of holistic planning across advisor practices and ensure we are creating an unparalleled client experience through client deliverables. The Director of Financial Planning will lead financial planning software decisions that align and support the overall advice strategy and work with the practice teams on overall planning adoption. Through review and analysis, you will provide sophisticated and technical support working closely with client delivery teams as it pertains to the unique planning needs of each Private Wealth Management Client.

How you’ll spend your time:
Work closely with direct reports, advisors and practice teams to proactively understand trends, risks and opportunities to deliver holistic financial planning solutions to clients.
Focused on business development opportunities as it pertains to expanding Private Wealth Management planning services to current and future clients.
Working closely with the planning team on specific client cases, reviewing and discussing holistic planning opportunities as it relates to areas such as cash flow management, retirement, tax and estate planning.
By staying on top of industry trends, maintaining technical knowledge, attending educational workshops and reviewing publications, you will serve as a resource to client delivery teams and management for education and training on relevant financial planning topics and analysis.
Utilizing your expertise in Financial Planning, you will participate in the Product Distribution Strategy – Participate in evaluation of product mix, consistency of delivery throughout the footprint.
Utilizing your skill set, you will evaluate the planning approach, outputs and software and make recommendations to UMBFSI President and Sales Leadership to ensure an enhanced experience.
Working closely with the Director of Sales and Delivery and other Leaders on the execution of the Private Wealth Management business plan.

You have a Bachelor's degree in related area, 7 years of financial planning experience and 3 years of leadership experience.
You have a CFP and other advanced designations.
You are highly skilled at presenting financial information and exhibit critical thinking.
You are highly motivated and passionate about financial planning.
Compensation Range:
Minimum: $131,250.00 - Mid Point: $187,530.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
