ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you an engineer with a passion for optimizing complex manufacturing systems? We’re looking for a technical leader to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in liquid product manufacturing and primary packaging processes. In this role, you’ll apply your mechanical or chemical engineering expertise to advance technologies such as bottle filling, cap sorting and closing, labeling, and sleeving.
You’ll collaborate closely with R&D to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, mentor site engineers, and contribute to global initiatives that drive operational excellence. As a key member of our Global Engineering Center of Excellence, you’ll lead front-end engineering efforts, support project execution, and champion best practices across our global packaging portfolio.
This is a high-impact role for someone with strong initiative, broad engineering knowledge, and a drive to innovate in packaging systems that power our global brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain relevant Design Guides, Specification Templates, and preferred vendor list for all major unit operations to ensure adherence to product, safety, and quality requirements
Interface with project groups and other cross functional groups on engineering needs in support of operation, capital planning and project execution
Provide technical support to enable decision making on filling and packaging equipment selection, standardization design of new packaging processes, means and methods to comply with specifications & standards, and modify existing packaging equipment designs to improve production techniques
Provides engineering support activities for manufacturing facilities, which include major capital projects, equipment upgrades, major equipment and system purchases as well as installations
Provide feasible packaging solutions, as well as associated capital estimates and timelines for new marketing initiatives by coordinating with Global Product Supply, Technical Platform Experts, machine suppliers and internal customers
Investigates, and provides technical leadership in implementing cost saving projects, OEE Improvements and LEAN to existing processes and support systems globally
Support the development and implementation of Engineering Best Practices throughout the organization
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant work experience or 3+ years’ relevant work experience with advanced degree
Capital project management experience in the Consumer Packaging Goods, Food/Beverage, or Pharmaceutical Industries developing packaging equipment solutions
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Project Management – Success in developing, implementing global project plans and initiatives
Display strong competencies in communicating risks and mitigation plans to executive stakeholders
Continuous Improvement – knowledge and experience in driving TPM Early Management methodology and Lean Manufacturing
International project implementation experience is plus
Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Communication - Strong oral and written communication skills with international teams
Teamwork - Balance team and individual responsibilities to foster group commitments to goals and objectives
