Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a part time Administrative Assistant to join our team in the Surgical Services Department.
Responsibilities
Duties:Demonstrates good communication skills. Accurately transcribes and relays messages to medical and nursing staff. Proficient in data entry and wordprocessing. Accurately reconciles OR charges and submits new items to Supply Chain to be built. Maintains and assists in data collection within Surgical Services. Compiles special and monthly reports. Works with Supply Chain to provide supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Contacts supply vendors on request
- Demonstrates competency in use of computer programs
- Demonstrates skills in duplicating and collating
- Prepares perioperative forms
- Communicates with departments in SHCMC
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Maintains composure in stressful situations
- Assists in gathering of statistical data as requested
- Cross-trained as to scheduling
Qualifications
Education
High School diploma required
Skills and Experience
3-5 years administrative experience
Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Suite of products
