The Opportunity 
 

The Senior Financial Analyst– Trade role is a Business Partner role to the GPN Americas CCO (customer sales) team. GPN Americas is a +$1B organization encompassing all sales of ON, SlimFast, think!, Isopure, BSN and Amazing Grass brands across the North American and South American markets. This role will have close commercial involvement across all brands and regions within GPN Americas, with primary focus on trade spend.

The role will be responsible for working directly with the sales teams and other cross functional partners to ensure complete tracking of accurate sub-ledgers of projected and actualized trade spend to ensure spend is accurately recorded, in line with GPN’s accounting policies, and analyzed against budgeted/forecasted costs.  Responsibilities include month end tasks, financial reporting and analytics, and budget planning.

In addition, this person will manage a direct report responsible for the auditing and clearing of deduction activity.  This direct report will audit deductions to ensure accuracy, and will identify, dispute, and recover invalid deductions taken through communications with the commercial team and external customer contacts.  The Senior Financial Analyst - Trade reports directly to the Sr. Manager Finance – Trade.

 

• Complete tracking and maintaining of accurate and up-to-date sub ledgers of actualized trade spend to ensure trade spend is accurately recorded, in line with GPN’s accounting policies, and analyzed against budgeted/forecasted costs
• Month end responsibilities, including but not limited to, month end journal entries and analytics
• Reporting trade spend through consistent communication to interested parties such as customer sales teams, GPN’s finance and accounting group, and GPN management
• Ensure customer sales teams are up-to-date on their actualized and forecasted trade spend rate and aware of variances vs. budgeted/forecasted trade rates
• Ensure accurate cash application of deductions and accurate deduction clearing through working closely with internal sales teams and Glanbia Share Services
• Manage a direct report, overseeing auditing and processing of deductions while monitoring and reporting on relevant metrics

  
 The Skills you will bring to the team

• Advanced skills in Excel (Required). Able to manage multiple data of information
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and Business Objects
• Able to work independently and strong analytical skills (problem solving, evaluation, and judgment)
• BA Accounting/Finance Degree or related field
