The Asset Operation & Innovation team provide leadership through setting standards and assuring delivery in ‘How’ the Area field teams deliver their work to achieve the outcomes of the Asset and Incident Management Strategy. We work across Assets and Incidents at a national and area level driving continuous improvement.
We also provide the operational lead for temporary Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) assets.
You will support the team which provides the national operational management for temporary FCRM assets, including ultra and high volume pumps, temporary barriers, Incident Logistics Contract, Incident Command Units and the Principal depots.
You will set the operational technical standards for temporary FCRM assets, including the planning, deployment, exercising and training, and pump deployment plan development. As well as assuring delivery of these standards to ensure they are embedded within the business.
You will work with teams across the Directorate, Operations Asset & Incidents and Areas, as well as our suppliers, professional partners and communities to embed and develop our operational response to flooding using temporary FCRM assets.
This role requires time where you will be working away from home at short notice. There is a requirement to regularly travel to sites across England to attend incidents, asset failures, etc and at short notice and during bank holidays. You will attend site as a pump specialist advisor and if required take the role of site controller. The team The mobile assets team is part of the wider AO&I Team that provides a national service for the business. We maintain and coordinate the MA capability and implement the introduction of operational tools and standards to drive improved ways of working.
We manage a range of contracts to support our area operational teams and develop strong working relationships with supply chain partners to assure our delivery meets required standards. Experience/skills required We’re seeking specialist skills in pumping operations and a great understanding on how we deploy our mobile assets within the EA.
