We are looking for two experienced group accounting professionals to join the Cargotec Group Reporting Team as Senior Controller. One of these positions will be transferred to Kalmar after the possible separation and the other remains in Cargotec. The Group Reporting team is part of the Group Finance organization and responsible for Group's consolidated monthly, interim and annual closings.
This position is based in Cargotec’s head office in Helsinki with a hybrid working model. You will report to the Director, Group Control.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Participate in Cargotec’s monthly, interim and annual closing controlling and reporting tasks including continuous development of processes and tools (HFM). This includes various data controlling tasks, group eliminations and preparation of certain interim and annual report notes
- Responsible for group level equity accounting/eliminations and related matters like translation differences and goodwill allocations. Maintaining acquisition calculations in the consolidation and related content development. Participation in goodwill impairment testing
- Participate together with the Group Tax team in the tax reporting in the group consolidation and prepare the related interim and annual report notes. Participation in tax reporting developments
- You have a central role and ownership of a wide area of IFRS standards including training finance persons and update of the related group level reporting instructions to ensure accurate and transparent IFRS reporting to the group, for example pension reporting according to IAS 19.
- Responsibility for ensuring completeness of financial information in annual reports by coordinating wider areas in annual reports with internal or external counterparts, for example XBRL reporting and management remuneration reporting.
Main tasks and responsibilities might be modified based on the person’s competencies. Depending on the person’s competencies, experience and preferences this position may also include other tasks and responsibilities than listed above like co-operation in the sustainability reporting with Sustainability team and ESG Controller.
What you’ll need to succeed
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the group consolidation process and IFRS standards are essential in this position. Previous group level tax reporting experience is essential. This position is right for a team player who takes initiative and takes care of his/her own responsibility area independently, is highly organized, can handle and manage multiple tasks while producing accurate and timely results. We are looking for a person who has hands-on attitude, good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and execute within an international environment. The suitable person has an analytical mindset and wants to develop processes and ways of working.
Ideally you have:
- Master’s level degree in economics and business administration or other relevant education
- Minimum 7-10 years relevant experience in group consolidation, preferably in the publicly listed company
- Excellent knowledge of consolidation and group reporting principles
- Strong IFRS reporting and accounting knowledge
- Experienced user of consolidation tool HFM. Good Excel skills, basic Google tools skills
- SAP knowledge is an advantage as this position may include monitoring internal SAP development from Group reporting perspective
- Fluent spoken and written communication skills in English (corporate language) and Finnish
- Capability of working well under pressure and with tight reporting deadlines
- Analytical skills, exactness and carefulness
- Team working skills.
