Hatch is seeking a Senior Ports & Terminals Project Director within the container terminal sector to lead and manage complex projects from inception to completion.  

Additionally the Project Director will be responsible for development and execution of strategic business initiatives to identify and secure planning and engineering work along the west coast of US with a focus on the container terminal market. 

This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a strong client-facing presence. The Senior Project Director will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.  Understanding their needs and expectations, and ensure they are met or exceeded.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Generate new project opportunities and move those projects between the stages in the business development process:
    • Consult with internal and external resources to evaluate client requirements and develop a comprehensive project proposal.
    • Evaluate opportunities for alignment with company strategy, coordinate pursuit activities with marketing, and assist the Business Unit in preparing responses.
  • Participate in professional events (conferences, presentations, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of experience in the container terminal market.
  • Experience developing client account plans that include key stakeholders and value propositions that match client challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in client development activities
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends relevant to segment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field of study.

Salary is up to $225,000 and would depend upon experience and education.
