Job Overview
The Senior Program Coordinator (SPC) oversees all facets of designated programs within the Berkley School of Nursing (BSON). They possess comprehensive knowledge of the programs and operational processes of the school. This role supports the academic, administrative, and regulatory functions of the school and its programs by leveraging strong communication, organizational, data management, and collaboration skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Proactive coordination of day-to-day operations of academic or administrative programs, ensuring attention to detail, efficient processes, timely communication, and comprehensive support for faculty and students.
Organize and manage program-related events including logistics, outreach, and participant engagement, to enhance the program’s educational offerings and local, regional, and national visibility
Collect, analyze, and maintain program data, preparing reports and presentations for directors to inform decision-making and track program effectiveness and outcomes
Create visually appealing and well-organized materials and program documents for internal and external audiences
Work Interactions
The Senior Program Coordinator (SPC) serves as the central communication point for faculty, students, alumni, school administration, and relevant stakeholders in the Berkley School of Nursing. The Senior Program Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Program Manager (SPM) and also has administrative support responsibilities to the Directors of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program and the PhD in Nursing Program. This role involves collaboration with program directors, faculty, and administrative leadership, as well as coordination with the distance learning vendor. The SPC works closely with other program coordinators and key internal and external stakeholders, including the GU Simulation Lab Coordinator, operations team, admissions, and Student Academic Affairs. Additionally, the Senior Program Coordinator works independently and may supervise student workers.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years of relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience; Masters degree preferred
Experience in academic or non-profit environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Works to completion of deadlines
Manifests flexibility and creativity in solving problems and achieves the goals of this office
Proficiency in the use of the computer: Office Software: Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), DocuSign, or similar applications for document creation, data analysis, and presentations.
Familiarity with database software for managing student information and program data
Knowledge of LMS platforms (like Canvas or Blackboard) for course administration and communication
Proficiency in email platforms and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Suite) for effective communication
Detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with faculty and students; ability to work independently
Positive, professional, and customer service oriented
