About the role

The Experience Research team at Asana is focused on understanding the dynamics of modern work, the role technology plays, and how Asana can empower teams to thrive in a collaborative environment. Our work informs teams at every level of the company and drives key roadmap decisions. We partner with Product Design, Product Management, Data Science, Engineering, business, and marketing teams to get deep insights about our customer's behaviors and attitudes, translating them into actionable recommendations across the company. We think big about new areas, test developing concepts, and evaluate products and services once they’ve rolled out.

You’ll be joining as a senior member on the Clarity Pillar, where we help customers connect work to their company goals and mission, provide insights to inform better decisions, and ensure they get deep value from Asana’s core surfaces so they can achieve flow in their daily activities. Your research will inform pillar-level decisions and help uncover market opportunities that will deliver strategic advantage for our customers.

What you’ll achieve

  • Be a UXR leader on the Clarity Pillar - inform the vision, strategy, and priorities
  • Ensure that we ship meaningful, informed customer experiences that achieve business goals
  • Identify and prioritize the right open questions and proactively plan your research roadmap in partnership with fellow leads and product teams
  • Uplevel the organization’s ability to make decisions using insights that integrate both quantitative and qualitative data, growing research skills and knowledge across the R&D team (researchers and non-researchers alike) 
  • Coach & empower teams to conduct their own focused product research
  • Collaborate with UXR leadership to recognize insights themes and connect dots across pillars; provide direction and guidance on the team’s growth, impact, process, and tools

About you

  • 5+ years of experience practicing UX Research for digital products with a wide variety of research methods applied across the product development cycle 
  • Experience building for complex, enterprise-focused B2B platforms
  • 2+ years as a mentor and leader, or people manager 
  • Able to develop and apply frameworks and model-thinking
  • Experience guiding product strategy informed and backed by insights 
  • Able to distill research findings into clear, actionable, and practical insights that help your teams meet business goals 
  • A uniter – conviction and ability to quickly build trust and rapport with stakeholders at every level. Passion for leading workshops and employing creative methods to get people excited about ideas that serve our users
  • Foundational knowledge of information architecture, design principles, and content strategy for both web and mobile 
  • Able to think critically to diagnose issues, roadblocks, and gaps in thinking

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. 

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $207,000- $263,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
