Commercial Bank Investments Product Controller, Associate

Join the Commercial Banking (CB) Investments Controller to be an integral member of the broader CB Strategy, Finance & Business Management organization with primary oversight of CB's investment portfolio, comprised of community development tax credit investments and public and private equity investments supporting some of CB’s strategic initiatives.
As an Associate on the Product Controller team within Commercial Bank Investments unit, you will be engaging across a broad range of stakeholders and possess a strong financial control mindset and a deep understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
Job responsibilities
- Ensure the financial reporting accuracy and integrity of CB’s investment portfolio, including CRE tax credits (New Market Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits) and public/private equity investments
- Design and execute key controls throughout the accounting and reporting lifecycle of investments
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior business leaders across CB and strategic investments on all matters relating to accounting, reporting and controls
- Oversee month-end close process for CB investments, partnering closely with various corporate groups and functions
- Review and report quarterly performance and valuation of investments to senior management, including assessment for impairment
- Prepare and review regulatory filings or data used for external reporting
- Assist the business on new strategic investments and business initiatives from an accounting, reporting and controls perspective
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 3+ years of experience within the financial services industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present to senior management
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- banking sector experience
- Knowledge and experience of accounting for tax credits and investments preferred
- CPA or equivalent preferred
