CAE Engineer II - Automotive Structures

This role will support CAE development activities for complex vehicle system level CAE model construction, visualization, and analysis for Powersports products (ATVs, SxS)

Responsibilities

• Utilize Ansa/Hypermesh for Construction of high quality FE meshes and models of complete body, chassis subsystems and components.
• Conducting non-linear LS-Dyna and ABAQUS FE solutions for Crash, low-speed impact, durability and strength evaluation.
• Interpret data, develop and report countermeasures using Meta/Hyperworks for post processing.
• Must be able to optimize and correlate analyses with real world test results.
• Communicates effectively within the group about issues, and outside the group to accomplish goals.
• Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
• Lead research activities to develop new and improve existing CAE methods.
• Utilizes Excel to create and update project schedules.
• Travel to client site required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years relevant exp. or Master’s degree in Engineering and 3+ yrs relevant exp.
• Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including excel.
• Experience using pre-processor (Ansa/Hypermesh), post-processor (Meta/Hyperworks), solver tools (LS-Dyna and Abaqus) for complex full vehicle and system-level CAE model construction, visualization, and analysis.
• Experience using ADAMS and/or CFD Solvers (Fluent/Star CCM+, etc) is a plus.
• CAD design experience preferred.
