The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer - Effectors to join our Tucson, AZ location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, Chief Engineers, Chief Technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters!

What You Will Do

  • Core Systems Engineering: Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.

  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.

  • Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.

  • Decision analysis & Resolution: Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate and Lead: Work with and lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.

  • Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.

  • Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

  • Ability to obtain Final Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Masters or PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.

  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.

  • Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools

  • Experience in developing and managing requirements.

  • Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.

  • Experience with performing performance analysis and presenting analytical and technical material

  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.

  • Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.

  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers

  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle
