Job Description
The Manager of Agile Practice is a critical role that ensures that Ent's Agile practices and teams are supported and operating efficiently to deliver value. This role will provide guidance and oversight to the Agile teams on best practices, manage the Scrum Masters within the Agile Practice Team, and consult and partner with various levels of leadership, product, project, and technology teams to promote continuous improvement and value delivery. This position is both strategic and tactical: requiring the ability to apply a strategic perspective to successfully translate strategy into enabling Agile product delivery for the Product and Enablement Teams.Essential Functions
- Agile Practice Leadership: Acts as a servant leader, promotes the adoption of an agile mindset through teaching, mentoring, and coaching. Provides guidance and oversight to multiple teams, growing Lean-Agile capability across the organization. Utilizes lean-agile tools and frameworks to drive continuous improvement. Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets. Facilitates teams? progress toward goals and commitments through improvements in quality, predictability, and flow. Advises the teams to utilize agile ceremonies effectively, such as daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives to maximize value delivery. Actively participates in and/or facilitates these ceremonies in addition to large room planning. Aids the team to improve team dynamics, performance, and management of conflicts through the application of agile principles. Responsible for reporting providing key metrics that are focused on enhancing value delivery and supporting team health. Partners with teams to build collaborative, transparent relationships throughout the organization to assist the team with managing interdependencies, mitigating risks, and resolving impediments. Help manage risks and dependencies. Escalate and track impediments. Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
- Agile Product Delivery: Leads Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events. Facilitate the PI planning event. Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparency. Summarize program PI objectives into Solution PI Objectives (the STE) and publish them for visibility and transparency Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities. Maintain, recommend, and document improvements to Agile product delivery.
- Staff Leadership\Management: Provides feedback, guidance, mentoring, training, and leadership. Supports staff development plans through regular coaching dialogs. Handle supervisory duties such as approving time off, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions. Responsible for monitoring and forecasting staffing needs for Agile Practice Team.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications
Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field of study.
- 6+ years of experience working on an application development scrum team in some capacity.
- 2+ years experience with, supervisory, or management experience
- 3+ years experience with project management in a financial institution using Scrum methodologies. preferred
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of accounting experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.
