Senior Operational Auditor

For our Amsterdam Office, we are looking for a highly driven Senior Operational Auditor to join our Risk & Audit team. The purpose of Fastned’s new internal audit function is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the business operations of Fastned. The Risk & Audit team has a company wide risk and audit coverage.

Together with the Head of Risk & Audit, you will play a key role in continuously growing, improving the new internal audit function. You will also be responsible for initiating and performing audits end-to-end in line with the audit planning. Your recommendations and advice will support the business to enhance operational performance. As the internal audit function is just initiated and Fastned is growing rapidly in multiple countries, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial senior operational auditor.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Prepare operational audits, conduct fieldwork, draft audit reports with findings, recommendations and collect management responses.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and control enhancements.

• Identify areas of inefficiency, risk, and non-compliance within the organization, and provide advice to management for improvement.

• Stimulate, monitor and report about the progress of open audit findings.

• Initiate and coordinate with third parties external audits and support the external accountant by following up information requests.

• Comply with the IIA Code of Ethics, stay up to date on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, internal audit standards and fulfill CPE requirements.

Requirements

Who we are looking for

• Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in operational auditing;
• A bachelor's degree in Business economics or equivalent;In the possession of a CIA or equivalent (e.g. RO) certification;
• Strong understanding of auditing principles, techniques and standards;
• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills in English. Fluency in Dutch is a strong plus;
• Capable of initiating, conducting audits end-to-end;
• Ability to work independently and part of a team;
• Attention to detail, a strong analytical and curious mindset;
• A pro-active, pragmatic and result-driven attitude.
