About the role

Job Summary

Lead an Operations team in West Texas to achieve production and operational goals.  Ensures safe and proper compliance with environmental, federal, and company standards. Monitors change to regulations and regulatory guidelines with assistance from the supporting team and executes new procedures to comply with new regulations. Reviews contractual obligations and ensures facilities are capable of delivering forecasted operational capacities.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in oil and gas industry, in operating midstream facilities, including oil processing, gas gathering and produced water disposal.
  • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment.
  • Maintains excellent communication skills and the ability to organize, problem-solve and plan in an operational environment with multiple cross-functional groups
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, forecasting, accruing, and managing departmental budgets
  • Demonstrated ability in developing standards and procedures for implementation in the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and coach for performance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, SAP and work order process, Cygnet (or other SCADA systems), and IMaps (or Google Maps) preferred.

 


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and leading (2) Midstream Operations Foremen and (18-24) Operators in the operations and maintenance of gas compression facilities, produced water disposal facilities, and oil pumping facilities.
  • Responsible for the operational success, strategic alignment, and integration of activities for 1 of 6 West Texas midstream operating areas (Permian Basin).
  • Ensures the safe execution of work practices, procedures and protection of the environment, including proper handling of hydrates and hydrocarbons, compliance with all applicable company, state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Accomplish job responsibilities/duties in accordance with Western Midstream Core Values: Servant Leadership, Customer Focus, Belief in Each Other, Integrity, Positive Work Environment and Empowerment
  • Responsible for managing the OPEX budget for 1 of 6 WTX Midstream Operating areas and communicating forecasts and variances to management teams.
  • Develops and initiates training programs for staff with a focus on cross-training teams.  Provides support in developing safe work practices, procedures and creating corporate standards.
  • Reports to Operations Management and acts as a key advisor in influencing the strategic direction of the business.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving the most complex business/technical issues within established policies. 
  • Communicates with all teams involved in projects and facilitates communication between teams with an emphasis on effective and consistent peer to peer communication
  • Respond to call out requests and work irregular hours as needed for maintenance, relief, and emergency situations.

 

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 

Associate’s Degree, Trade School, or Applicable Professional Certifications preferred.
 

Certifications/Licenses
Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.

 

Relocation
This position is not eligible for relocation. 

 

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.

 

Work Schedule

This position is on a 5 / 40-hour/week schedule in Midland Office or Field Office

This position covers 24-hour operations and must be available for 24/7 on call as assigned.
