Title: Program Instructor (Impact Lead II-Gonzales Teen Innovation Center)-Part Time
Work Schedule: Part-time, non- exempt; generally scheduled 30 hours a week, Monday – Friday between 8:00 am-7:00 pm with occasional evenings and weekends for field trips and special events.
Reports to: Site Supervisor, GTIC

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, GTIC, the GTIC Impact Lead II will support youth success through outstanding, Mission-driven and integrity-centered leadership. S/he accomplishes this by engaging, age-appropriate and outcome-driven programs serving youth ages 11-18. Support youth to ultimately achieve on-time grade progression, high school graduation, college/postsecondary readiness and education leading to a livable wage career, healthy lifestyle and engaged citizenship. This position involves flexible hours due to occasional programming at school sites and after school programming at the GTIC. This position requires a high level of community relations with school administrators and city officials. The GTIC Impact Lead II’s primary work location is the Boys & Girls Club administrative office in Salinas and the GTIC.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Youth Success
- Foster a safe, positive, fun, and impactful Teen Pathway Center environment where 75-100 youth daily acquire a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, power and influence
- Implement BGCA teen programs, and activities that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for teens
- Support the implementation of school day programming in partnership with the SC team.
- Provide homework support for middle and high school science, math, technology, literacy, and reading
- Assist with college, career preparation, and life skills workshops including college tours
- Assist with implementing monthly case management for teens
- Demonstrate ability to manage a classroom
- Address youth behavior with a positive discipline approach that is fair, firm, consistent and kind
- Support a culture of high expectations and frequent recognition of youth for their efforts and achievements
- Support recruitment and enrollment strategies to grow teen participation to meet program goals
Program Impact
- Implement daily activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals, efficiency standards, and quality specifications
- Support program intake documentation, enrollment and track program attendance.
- Engage parents to support youth success
- Contributes to special event planning and execution (i.e. Family Nights and program celebrations)
- Identify any safety, maintenance, and technology issues to Operations and District and City partners as applicable
- Work with teachers/staff/liaisons as needed to support program efforts
- Maintains positive, collaborative working relationships with South County schools, districts, businesses, and other youth service organizations, community leaders and other stakeholders to achieve goals
- Imbue BGCMC’s solid reputation as a respected, trusted & impactful youth development agency

- Maintains safety and order of program, including field trips and youth services delivered at non-BGCMC locations as well as compliance to policy and standard operating procedures
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures determined by each site location
- Assist with maintaining inventory, ensure equipment/supplies are in good working order and stewarded for intended use
Collateral Duties
- Provide support as assigned to other departments and/or sites as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned in alignment with fulfilling primary function of position
Requirements
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch
- Occasionally travel to various locations in Monterey County to provide program services
- Ability to remain in stationary position including standing or sitting for up to 25% of shift
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in the implementation of programming for youth
- Tech savvy, including proficiency in utilizing Google Suite, Microsoft Office S
