Part of Dover Corporation’s Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift®, Chief®, Forward®, Direct-Lift®, Ravaglioli, Hanmecson®, Revolution®, Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.
SUMMARY
The Director of Product Management is responsible for driving profitable growth through deep market understanding, rigorous competitive analysis, and disciplined product portfolio optimization. This role ensures product strategies, roadmaps, and investments are aligned to customer needs, competitive differentiation, revenue growth, and margin expansion across all channels and key markets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Lead market and customer analysis to identify segmentation, use cases, and value drivers that guide product strategy and investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence framework, including benchmarking, pricing analysis, and positioning.
- Own product portfolio lifecycle management from opportunity identification through optimization, rationalization, and retirement.
- Drive product strategies that support revenue growth, profitable mix, and gross margin improvement.
- Develop, communicate, and govern multi-year product roadmaps aligned to market demand, competitive dynamics, ROI, and execution capacity.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment from product strategy through commercial execution.
- Ensure disciplined business cases support all new product introductions, major investments, and portfolio changes.
- Provide clear product positioning, value propositions, and competitive guidance to commercial teams.
- Oversee pricing strategy through a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive pricing, cost trends, elasticity, and channel complexity.
- Ensure effective product launches and go-to-market execution supported by high-quality commercial tools and training.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manages Product Management leaders and individual contributors. Responsible for setting objectives, coaching and developing talent, establishing performance expectations, and building a high-performing, market-led Product Management organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Product Management experience in industrial, equipment, or B2B environments.
- Proven experience leading portfolio-level product strategy tied directly to revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Experience operating in multi-channel and multi-region organizations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate market insights, competitive strategy, and financial impact to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems, ERP platforms, pricing tools, and data analytics solutions preferred.
TRAVEL
Up to 30% travel required to support customer engagement, competitive assessments, and collaboration across business locations.
Work Arrangement : Onsite - Madison Indiana
Pay Range: $180,000 - $190,000 annually
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
