We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Global Trade (GT) Professional to grow their skills as part of the world’s largest aerospace and defense company – RTX Corporation.   As part of the Raytheon Legal, Contracts & Compliance (LCC) organization, GT Professionals play a critical role in supporting the successful capture of international pursuits, and the execution of contracts, program and supply chain requirements. Global Trade Professionals ensure that Raytheon remains compliant with both U.S. and Non-U.S. Export/Import (EX/IM) regulations in all the company’s global business transactions.

This position is with Raytheon’s Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) business and is responsible for working with the LADS Global Trade Team and LADS Stakeholders to develop strategies to support international programs and business development capture efforts.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with internal and external customers to prepare and submit quality export authorizations (Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA) and other requests for approval) to the U.S. Department of State Office of Defense Trade Control Licensing, and U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security.
  • Provide consistent interpretation of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to Raytheon employees.
  • Provide export authorization status updates to leadership and programs/requestors.
  • Facilitate approvals for the physical export of hardware and other transactional activities.
  • Work with the Senior Global Trade Manager and other stakeholders to determine and certify appropriate legal authority for exports of dual-use commodities and technology, defense articles; hardware, technical data and defense services, including determination of the appropriate export authorization, exemption, or exception.
  • Participate in compliance assessments and investigations.
  • Develop and deliver training, as required, for employees engaged in international business activities.
  • Represent Global Trade in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in implementation of company procedures and instructions to support compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and company policy.
  • Minimal domestic travel - approximately once per quarter.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
  • Experience researching and/or applying the ITAR / EAR regulations
  • Experience applying for, managing, and transacting against ITAR and EAR export authorizations
  • Experience with DECCS, SNAP-R, SAP-GT, OCR EASE IT or similar Global Trade tools and/or systems
